Costa Blanca is a beautiful region with mountains stretching along most of the coast. A 100 kilometers (60 miles) of sandy beaches attracts many holiday makers.
The Costa Blanca or White Coast extends along the eastern coast of Spain, and covers the coastline of the province Alicante. Costa Blanca starts to the north at Denia, and ends to the south at Torrevieja. Alicante is the main city in the area, can be found almost in the middle. There is an international airport in Alicante that connects to most major cities in Europe. To the north of Costa Blanca is Valencia airport, and to the south Murcia airport. Both these airports also have connections to other European airports, and are convenient for visits to Costa Blanca.
Costa Blanca is not as cold and wet in the winter as Costa Brava to the North, nor is it as hot in the summer as Costa del Sol in the south. Costa Blanca has the best all year round temperatures, and the climate is recognized as one of the best in the world by WHO. In the winter months Costa Blanca has nearly as many sunny days as in the summertime.
Alicante is the main city on Costa Brave. Among other popular cities along the coast are: Benidorm, Altea, Javea, Santa Pola, Guardamar, Torrevieja, and Murcia located a little inland, away from the coast.
